Terpenes are used in many different products in the cannabis industry. They’re generally used in concentrates and extracts, as well as products used for vaping, medicinal products such as tinctures, and in cannabis or hemp flowers.
Using Terpenes in Extracts and Cannabis Concentrates
There are different types of extracts, concentrates and products that derive from cannabis, to which Cali Terpenes can be added to enrich their aroma and flavor as well as increase the “entourage effect”. Plus, they also provide other benefits depending on the terpenes and each terpene profile.
Recommended post: Terpenes and Hash.
Some products or common cannabis derivates in which terpenes are used are:
- Mechanical extracts or without solvents (traditional hash, iceolator, ry hash, dry sift etc).
- Extractions using solvents (BHO, PHO, Co2, etc.)
- Cannabinoid destillates (CBD, THC, etc, known as Clear)
- Pression and temperature extracts such as Rosin
- Tinctures (CBD or THC tinctures in olive oil, coconut oil etc.)
Plus, terpene profiles modulate the effects of cannabinoids (entourage effect). For example, if you add a terpene profile from a strain classed as sativa, such as Jamaican Dream, to a cannabis concentrate of any strain, it will adopt the effects produced by Jamaican Dream.
This allows consumers to obtain different aromas, flavors and effects using the same base.

Use of Terpenes in Vaporizable Cannabis Products
The use of terpenes un products derived from cannabis and destined to be vaped is quite wide spread, as they’re often used on concentrates or herbs that have lost their terpenes and need a little extra.
For example, Clear (THC or CBD distillate) is quite popular in places like the US, and doesn’t contain any terpenes, so terpene profiles are often added to increase its aroma, flavor and entourage effect.
Use of Terpenes in Cannabis or Hemp Flowers
Terpenes can also be used to increase and improve aroma produced by flowers (buds), whether they’re hemp or cannabis.
Cannabis can lose a lot of its aroma due to many reasons; issues when growing, drying, external factors etc. This can cause its aroma, effect and flavor to dimmish quite a lot.
Terpenes can help give nature its power back. The ideal method for applying terpenes to flowers and herbs is to use our Terps Spray. We use micro-spraying nozzles designed for industrial aroma spraying, and they come in liquid format.
